Makoto Nagata has held the position of Senior Manager of Hydrogen Business Development at Asahi Kasei Europe GmbH since October 2024. In this role, he is entrusted with overseeing the expansion of Asahi Kasei’s alkaline water electrolyzer system, “Aqualyzer™,” within the European market.

Makoto brings with him 17 years of professional experience. For 11 of those years, he served as a sales leader in the printing materials industry, managing both domestic and international markets. He subsequently spent four years as Strategic & Planning Manager at Asahi Kasei’s sales subsidiary in Belgium, where he was deeply involved in corporate management and strategic development. Over the past two years, he has been actively engaged in the hydrogen sector, assuming responsibility for business management and development initiatives.

Leveraging his extensive experience in global sales, corporate planning, and hydrogen business development, Makoto is well-positioned to offer valuable solutions to clients seeking to accelerate their transition to decarbonized energy — particularly those exploring green hydrogen production.
