Kanako Shibano is Director Business Development at Hexagon Purus where she focuses on business development activities related to hydrogen distribution, storage and refueling products at Hydrogen Mobility & Infrastructure business unit. She has been with Hexagon Purus since August 2024 as a secondee from Mitsui & Co.

She joined Mitsui & Co. in 2022 April and worked at Performance Materials business unit in Tokyo where she led the investment and cooperation activities with hydrogen related companies in North America and Europe as a project manager. Prior to her career at Mitsui & Co, she worked as an energy sector coverage banker and later as a project finance specialist at one of the largest Japanese banks in Tokyo.
